A new area is developing in Cartagena for people who want to enjoy some sun, relax and have some good time in the caraibes but far from the tourists and the noise of the city:
At only 15 minutes driving from the old town, Conrad is an oasis in the middle of nature. Another huge pull? Look how close you are to the beach..
This huge and modern resort features impressive architecture that highlights the calm and the beauty of the setting.
The resorts also offers an 18 hole golf course, seven restaurants, 1 spa, 1 gym, and 1 beach club.

Melia Hotel
5 minutes away from the Conrad and 17 km from the old town is another resort perfect for a couple or adult group of friends looking to relax and leave the stress of holiday planning behind for one trip. The Melia hotel is an All-inclusive hotel for Adults Only.
They really mean it when they said all-inclusive too, we really had everything included: breakfast/lunch/dinner, with an “all you can eat buffet” (and it was really very good)!
Fancy a martini tonic by the pool? The bartender will deliver it to you as soon as possible.
We know unlimited food and beverages can be a worry if you’re not trying to come back from vacation carrying 3 extra kilos, but the Melia has you covered. Their gym is fully equipped, and also happens to have a great view to enjoy a sunrise or sunset…but of course, running on the beach is only 5 minutes away.
What we ❤:
– All inclusive concept
– Margaritas by the pool
– View on the beach
– Bedrooms (really cosy and calm)
– Running on the beach ( 5 minutes walking from the hotel)

      1. Cartagena Old Town
5 minutes walking from the old town, and in front of the Convention center :
After a walk in the citys old town we were happy to jump into the Allure ‘s chocolate pool. The hotel offers a beautiful rooftop pool with a view on the skyline where you can enjoy a nice sunset far from the crowds.
With 70 bedrooms the hotel has an intimate feeling and makes you forget you are in the center of Cartegena.
Don’t hesitate to have dinner in their restaurant “Red Knife” and meet the chef Diego. The meat and the risotto were delicious and the waiters incredibly nice.
What we ❤:
– The rooftop bar/ pool & the view
– Excellent service
– The restaurant “Red Knife” – very delicious!
– Breakfast on the terrace

An institution in Cartagena but also one of the most expensive. The story goes that it was the house of pirates called DRAKE in the 15th Century.
In the heart of the old town, on a really colorful street, and hidden behind an impressive door, you will find a marvelous patio, a little paradise: Casa alba.
Sit in by the pool, close your eyes and you might get a taste of what heaven must be like.
The rooms are huge and very comfy all with a patio view.
The restaurant is simply delicious and the portions are generous.
You can drink your coffee or enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony while enjoying the view on the colorful street.
What we ❤:
– View on the street
– Location in the old town
– Pool
– Duplex bedrooms
– Boutique size
